Gym Timers & Scoreboards

Big digits and a remote, for a garage, a court or a field where a phone screen is useless.

Gym Timers & Scoreboards

Five products, and they cover two different rooms. Timers count work and rest for training. Scoreboards count points for a game. Both are built around one requirement: legibility from the far side of a space.

Digit height is what does that work. The 15-inch panels carry 2.6-inch digits, which stay readable across a two-car garage. The portable timer is the size of a dollar bill and belongs on a rig within arm's reach.

Choosing

Timer, scoreboard, or both

The 15-inch timers run countdown, count-up, stopwatch, Tabata, FGB and nine programmable interval plans, with a 110 dB alert and twelve volume steps. They mount by screws, a folding stand, cable ties or a magnetic spine, which covers a wall, a shelf, a fence and a rack.

The portable timer trades size for reach. Same modes, a magnet strong enough to hold on a squat rack, a battery that owners report lasting months, and a beeper that one owner describes as loud enough rather than loud.

The scoreboard is a different tool. Home and guest digits, count up and down, a clock mode and an IPX4 rating for outdoor use. Its weakness is public and we do not hide it: the blue digits wash out in bright daylight.

What people write about this department

Verbatim from reviews of these models, low ratings included.

The only problem, and it makes it very hard to use, is that the blue digits are not very visible unless you are standing right next to it.

Anonymous buyer, 2 out of 5, 17 August 2026

My biggest issues are the 10 second starting timer and a lack of a pause feature, which I use frequently for myself and my clients.

Lindy, 3 out of 5, 21 May 2024

I work out in the early morning when everyone is asleep - the noise level is as desired.

Questions

Asked often enough to answer here

Can the timer be paused mid-round?

Not on the 15-inch models, and a coach told us so in a three-star review. If you stop and start constantly with clients, buy the portable timer or plan around it.

Will the scoreboard work outdoors?

In shade and after sunset, yes, and it is rated IPX4 against splashing. In direct daylight the blue digits are hard to read from more than ten feet.

Does the remote reach across a gym?

Yes, and on the scoreboard it may also reach the unit next door. Run one device per space if you can.

What powers them?

The 15-inch timers take a DC adapter or a USB-C power bank. The scoreboard and the portable timer run on their own batteries.

Timers organise training, they do not prescribe it. The CDC puts adults at 150 minutes of moderate activity a week plus two days of strength work, and any interval plan you set here should add up to that rather than replace it.
