Wooden Clock Radios

Wooden Clock Radios

Warm cabinets with FM radio, a dimmable display and a charging pad on the lid.

Four models, one cabinet, four finishes. This is the department people buy when a clock radio from twenty years ago finally dies and nothing on the shelf looks like it belongs on furniture.

The cabinet does acoustic work as well as decorative work. A wooden box holds a small speaker without the plastic rattle that gives cheap clock radios away. That is why the reviews for this line talk about the radio sound more than about the alarm.

Choosing

The four finishes and what separates them

Walnut and light walnut carry amber digits, which read as warm at night and are the reason many owners choose this line over a white LED. Black and grey carry white digits and read as sharper in daylight.

Three of the four have the charging pad on the top face with a non-slip surface, and all four add a USB-A port for a second device. Charging is Qi certified at 5W, 7.5W or 10W depending on the phone.

The Bluetooth model swaps some of the radio's simplicity for a speaker you can play from a phone. If radio is the point, the plain models are the better buy. If music is the point, the Bluetooth cabinet is the one.

What people write about this department

Verbatim from reviews of these models, low ratings included.

wanted the lights to be dimmable so I can sleep in darkness but also be able to see the time when I wanted to.

Rollie, 5 out of 5, 11 January 2026

Finding a station is a frustrating, time consuming process because you have to cycle through every station to reach the one you want.

Questions

Asked often enough to answer here

Is tuning the radio easy?

No, and this is the fair complaint about the line. Stations are reached by cycling forward, not by jumping, and presets are lost after a power cut. If you listen to one station, set it and leave the radio on standby.

Are the digits bright at night?

They dim in five steps on three models and continuously on the Bluetooth cabinet. Owners who wanted a dark room say the lowest step works.

Is the wood real?

The cabinet is a wood-finished housing built around the speaker chamber. We describe it as a wooden cabinet, not as solid timber.

Does the alarm work without the radio?

Yes. Nine wake-up sounds are built in, and the radio is an alternative rather than a requirement.

This is the line that carries the FCC, CE and RoHS statement in its description, along with an 18-month warranty and a 24-hour response promise. Those words belong to this line and not to the whole range.
